World Backup Day

 Blog

Next Thursday, March 31st 2016, is World Backup Day. Have you backed up today? No? Why not?

The statistics are frightening:

  • 30% of people have never backed up their data.
  • 113 phones are lost or stolen every minute.
  • 29% of data loss disasters are caused by accident.
  • 1 in 10 computers are infected with a virus every month.

So, what would you do if you lost your data due to hard drive failure, ransomware or theft and you had no backup?

There are a multitude of ways to backup your data.  We like to use a double approach for redundancy.  We backup locally to an external hard drive and we also backup to a cloud service.  Should the local backup fail, the data is still retrievable from the cloud.

If you would like to talk to us about backing up your data, you can contact us on 045 409984. In the meantime, check out the official World Backup Day site here.
